Most of us in the USA conjure up a 1950's image of the bomb shelter era, when the words "bomb shelter" are mentioned. The even younger set, has no earthly idea of what a "bomb shelter" is or even why we would have them.
Yesterday, I watched the International House Hunter show on HGTV and the reality of the world came front and center. A young lady was searching in the city of Tel Aviv. Each condo she looked at, had a room that was purposefully created as a bomb shelter. One of the condos was an older building without a bomb shelter in each condo. But, never fear, there was one located down on the street, she could use.
She wanted to be where the action was downtown with the cafes and restaurants. All of the meeting places that a young person would desire for gathering with their friends and family. I am sure there were bomb shelters nearby too.
As a mother, is this not what we want for our children? A good life filled with peace, friends and family. Yes, we can have different opinions and religions, but does that mean we have to forcibly press our ways on others. Is this not a global Internet community of communication and business? Where differences are put aside because we can not physically see them with our eyes. And prejudices are left at the keyboard.
Could not the people of many, stop the idiots of few from causing all of this chaos? I believe in our youth and the eyes they see the world through. What are their answers to this mess?
What is your answer to the mess?
